Crews Cottage is situated just on the outskirts of the village of Upton Bishop. This location offers an ideal combination of peaceful rural life with amenities available just under 4 miles away in the thriving market town of Ross on Wye. Ross on Wye offers a good range of independent shops, supermarkets, library, community hospital, churches, primary and secondary schools and leisure facilities. The market town of Ledbury is approximately 10 ½ miles distance and also offers a wonderful range of independent shops, supermarkets, primary school and secondary schools, churches, community hospital, library and leisure facilities. There are excellent railway links to Birmingham New Street and London Paddington from Ledbury, Hereford and Gloucester. The cathedral cities of Hereford (13 ½ miles) and Gloucester (14 ½ miles) and the town of Cheltenham (22 ½ miles), are all within easy commuting distance. Monmouth, the gateway to Wales, is only 13 ½ miles distance whilst access to the motorway network, via junction 3 of the M50, is just under 2 miles drive away.

Crews Cottage is believed to date back to the late 18th Century. The property is entered via the large conservatory, which has quarry tiles. It is a fantastic space, is beautifully light and bright and there is ample space for a seating area and a table and chairs. Storage cupboards lie tucked away to one corner and French doors lead out to the gardens and a further set of doors leads to the dining room. The dining room has exposed light oak beams to the ceiling which add to the property's character, warmth and charm. The sitting room has a beautiful fireplace with an ornately carved fire surround, beneath which lies a wood burning stove on a flagstone hearth. Either side of the fireplace are storage cupboards and shelving within the alcoves and double doors lead to the gardens. The kitchen has an array of units in a warm cream which are complemented by beech work surfacing. There is an integral dishwasher, a stainless steel electric hob and oven and space for a fridge freezer. Adjacent to the cloakroom lies a storage cupboard to house a washing machine. Stairs lead up from the hallway to a large square landing, which is currently used as a study. Doors lead to three bedrooms, all of which are doubles. The master bedroom has bookshelves either side of the chimney breast to the alcoves and a window seat. The second bedroom has a storage cupboard behind stripped pine doors and stunning views to the surrounding countryside. The bathroom has a white suite and bath with shower over and ample storage space lies behind cupboard doors to one side.

Sitting in grounds of just under 1 ½ acres, the gardens of Crews Cottage are lovingly tended. Mature trees are in abundance and include ash, beech, birch and magnolia, to name but a very few. There is also a wild cherry tree. Flower beds are dotted here and there and contain a multitude of planting to ensure bursts of colour all year round. There are geraniums, lily of the valley and peonies. The garden has a variety of topiary with cylindrical, sphere and quadrant shapes and two wooden arbours are covered in clematis. A patios runs along the length of the rear of the property, which is bedecked in wisteria, and makes a wonderful entertaining space. The views from the garden to the surrounding countryside are simply idyllic and create a feeling of peace and relaxation. Tucked away to a corner of the garden is an artist's studio which has light and power. The studio naturally lends itself to a variety of uses and would make an ideal office for those working from home. To the front of the property lies the garage / workshop, which has light and power. There is also ample parking for several vehicles.
